Anchor Tap16 East Street
The modern Anchor in East Street was built in 1898. It was the 'tap' of the Anchor Hotel. In January 1975 an Horsham Branch of CAMRA was formed at this pub. It was later merged into the present branch. Believe the pub closed down during the middle eighties.
Having been closed for 30 years, this pub was reopened in February 2016 by Dark Star Brewery. A much-welcome addition to the town's drinking establishments, it is popular with customers both local and from afar. Refurbished in an early-20th century style, there are six handpumps offering Dark Star beers, together with other ales from across the country, plus real cider. There is a back bar with ten keg brews from Dark Star and other brewers. Bar snacks are served lunchtimes.
